The Myth of Cleal Coal

The coal industry globally has been spending millions on promoting the notion that coal is clean. But so far, “clean coal” is little more than an advertising slogan. There are no solutions that completely mitigate coal’s lifecycle of its enormous resource consumption and harm to health and the environment. 

An overview of the coal cycle (mining, production, supply, and disposal) proves that “clean coal” is impossible. Ultimately, coal cannot be considered “clean” when you factor in the air and water pollution generated by coal mining, preparation, transport and combustion. Pollution from the coal life cycle harms human health and the environment.
