Jubilee Australia Research Centre

Australia – Last month, Jubilee Australia, Friends of the Earth Australia and ActionAid Australia launched a brand-new award ceremony where the public can vote on which Australian corporation should be named and shamed for being the biggest Australian Corporate Cane Toad.

Mayur Resources has been nominated for its push to make PNG the first Pacific Country with a coal industry – the dirtiest industry on the planet!

Among the company’s many plans is to build a coal-fired power station in Lae, PNG’s second-biggest city, despite not having a social license.

If approved, the plant would increase PNG’s greenhouse gas emissions and accelerate the climate crisis.

It would also have devastating impacts on people’s health and wellbeing. Asthma, cancer, heart and lung diseases – the list of health issues linked to coal is long.

Cast your vote for Mayur Recourses to become the Corporate Cane Toad today.
